24-Hour Tennis Fundraisers Play With Jeremy Bates
‘The Magnificent Seven’ completed the 24-hour tennis marathon at the LTA National Tennis Centre in Roehampton last weekend, playing with former British No. 1 Jeremy Bates, Luke Milligan, Danny Sapsford and TV presenter Dan Lobb to raise funds for Beckenham LTC.
Jason Howe, Annette Medder, Eddie Medder, Ania Ojrzynska, Stephane Patteux, Liz Sharrock and Gavin Simpson battled through the London traffic to rally with the British players. At the end, Gavin and Annette raised a further £175 for Beckenham LTC by hitting the head of a tennis racquet down the centre line.
“All the Davis Cup players were so nice – they were all very helpful, giving us tips, praising for nice serving or shots,” said Ania. “They were very chatty and what amazed me most they actually remembered all our names throughout! Stephane even aced Jeremy Bates!”
