‘Netty’ Makes Wimbledon Qualifying
At least one Beckenham ‘member’ made it to Wimbledon qualifying this year!
Netty, a Border Collie, owned by Alex Chalabi, proved to be a sensation with Japanese photographers at the Bank of England sports round last week.
WTA player Tamira Pazsek petted her after each match, while her coach gave Netty a bottle of water. She got a tennis ball from Elena Makarova, coach of Margarito Gasparyan, who played Serena Williams in the main draw first round.
She probably watches more tennis than any other member!
Have a great time if you were lucky enough to get tickets for The Championship in our Beckenham LTC ballot. Security is tighter than ever this year, so pack light and bring hats and suncream!
